Council resource kit

Local councils receive hundreds of complaints about neighbourhood wood smoke every winter and many councils already run local campaigns to educate residents about correct wood heater use.

Running a local community education campaign is a vital way of reaching the community.

This resource kit is designed to help councils spread information about wood smoke problems and educate residents about ways to reduce wood heater pollution.

Councils can download artwork for education materials including brochures, posters and press advertisements as well as Facebook ads and myth busters that can be used on social media. You can add your own logo to localise your campaign.

The materials are also available in five community languages

  • Simplified Chinese
  • Traditional Chinese
  • Arabic
  • Hindi
  • Vietnamese
