Organics funding

The NSW Government’s Waste and Sustainable Materials Strategy 2041 (WaSM) aims to reduce the amount of organics waste in landfill. It also supports the NSW Government’s Net Zero Plan Stage 1 goal for net zero emissions from food, garden and textile waste landfilled from 2030.

Food Rescue Rebates $800,000 to support the NSW food rescue and relief sector to build their capacity to safely manage increasing amounts of rescued food through smaller, quicker projects. Open for applications
Business food waste partnerships grants
$4 million to support eligible organisations to incorporate education or training into existing programs to reduce and source separate food waste.

Go FOGO grants Provides up to $46 million in funding to support councils to roll out new weekly FOGO kerbside collection services. Round 2 has been awarded
Scrap Together grants Provides up to $400,000 in funding to support councils to roll out the Scrap Together Campaign. Round 2 has been awarded

Some grant programs are delivered through a partnership between the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) and NSW Environmental Trust.
