EPA welcomes stakeholder survey results
In 2016, we asked you, our stakeholders, what you thought of the EPA’s performance. The results are now in, and overall they are encouraging.
Independent research by Ipsos Social Research Institute found significant improvements and progress since the last stakeholder survey in 2013; for example:
- 67% of stakeholders are satisfied with our performance (up from 51% in 2013)
- 77% of stakeholders are satisfied with our communication methods (up from 69%).
The results also show that the EPA is perceived as professional, trustworthy, unbiased, and quick to respond to issues and incidents.
In other findings, our stakeholders are generally positive about their interactions with the EPA and have an appetite for more proactive engagement. These are pleasing results which indicate the effectiveness of the EPA’s responses to the 2013 survey – such as establishing this newsletter, and expanded customer service training for staff.
The survey found room for improvement in some areas. The general public still lacks a good understanding of the EPA’s functions; and satisfaction levels vary across stakeholder groups. The EPA’s response document outlines the actions we are taking to:
- build awareness of our role
- increase opportunities for stakeholders to contribute to issues
- improve engagement capability and customer service.
The EPA welcomes the important insights the survey has provided. The results are invaluable for the EPA, and ensure that we are continually looking at ways to improve how we engage with you.
