Enforceable undertakings are voluntary, legally binding, written agreements between the EPA and a company or individual entered into in connection with the EPA’s regulatory functions, including circumstances where there is an alleged breach of environmental legislation.
The agreement includes commitments by the company or individual, in response to an alleged issue, incident or other matter that are designed to improve environmental outcomes, address any environmental harm and prevent similar incidents occurring in the future.
